Sean Skinner, considered by many to be one of the best stick handling coaches in the world, is coming to San Antonio to conduct a 5-day stick handling clinic. This is a rare opportunity for you to receive personal instruction from an NHL-skills coach.
Sean has worked with several NHL teams (Canadiens, Panthers, Blues, and Hurricanes), the US Women’s Olympic team, the NHL Prospects Camp, the Swedish Hockey Federation, and many other US and international hockey programs (see his attached resume). He has built a global reputation as one of the best stick handling coaches in the world and he is in high demand by hockey organizations all over the planet.
To see videos about Sean Skinner, just Google his name (try “Sean Skinner Ovechkin” and watch Sean teach Alex Ovechkin a few advanced techniques and tricks; towards the end of this video you can catch Sean correcting Alex Ovechkin’s hand positioning during a drill Alex has already been doing most of his life).
The clinic will be held Sunday June 5th through Thursday June 9th. The clinic will consist of two hours of on-ice instruction daily by Sean Skinner personally. The cost of the clinic is $415.00.
This clinic will teach your player the skills, drills, and techniques necessary to develop advanced stick handling ability. Focus is on puck protection, dekes, and break-away skills. No matter what his or her current skill level is now, by the end of the clinic their confidence in their ability to successfully control the puck under pressure from an opponent will be significantly increased. Plus – they will now possess a small library of drills that they can do on their own, both on and off ice. Parents are welcome to video sessions.
The clinic will be divided into two time sessions; each session is two hours of on-ice instruction each day. Players will be placed in one of the sessions based on age. Each group will be further divided by ability so that every player will be able to learn and progress efficiently. The schedule is on the registration form. Both sessions follow the same lesson plan.
This is NOT a learn-to-play hockey clinic. This clinic is NOT for beginner hockey players.
This clinic is for players who already possess the ability to skate comfortably with a puck. You DO NOT have to be an advanced or Travel player, but you must at least be able to skate comfortably with a puck when not under pressure from an attacker. Although normally intended for elite players who have the goal of advancing their careers to higher competitive levels, this clinic is also open to House players who are looking for that special instruction not normally available in this area. House players who can skate comfortably (not necessarily competitively) with a puck are encouraged to register for the clinic.
Second year Squirt (Travel only), all Pee Wee (House and Travel), and all Midget (House and Travel) players are eligible. This clinic is not for Mites. Juniors, college, and AHL players - please contact the clinic coordinator.
For members of the San Antonio Jr Rampage hockey club this will be an excellent tune-up for the upcoming try outs the following week.
The coordinator for this clinic is Patrick Keough. He will process all registrations and collect all payments.
His email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can email your registration – or mail to Patrick Keough, 511 Lorimor Court, San Antonio, TX 78258 – or -- fax it to 603-589-1281.
Payment by check or credit card. See registration form for details.

Pierre Coach Frenchy Deschesnes, Head Instructor of Canadian Professional Hockey Schools, presents a summer camp at Northwoods Ice Center. They are replacing the Northern Edge hockey camp starting this year.
This year they will hold a week-long complete player camp at Ice Center at Northwoods in San Antonio, TX, August 1-5, 2016.
The camp cost is $445, which includes 15 hours of on ice instruction, 5 hours in the classroom with video review, and 5 hours of conditioning and player specific dry land training. The curriculum is designed to build fundamental skills while teaching players what the best shot selection is for any given situation, and learn the best places to score on goalies.
See the attached brochure and more information about the camp and Canadian Professional Hockey Schools itself below.
Please let them know if there is anything they can do to help you in any way.
CPHS was created in 1964, the mission and goal for our Hockey Schools was always to provide leading edge training that cannot be found anywhere else and to be the first to forge new paths. Our foundation virtues are Passion-Education-Tradition-Excellence
For years, Canadian Professionals was the first to have NHL players as camp instructors. From the early days to the present day, Canadian Professionals was the training ground for so many NHL stars. Players such as Brett Hull, Daryl Stanley, Randy Gillen and Butch Goring along with current players such as Nick Dowd of the LA kings.
Today we continue the CPHS tradition of forging new paths with our Canadian Professional Goal Scoring Camps. Thinking outside the box, the camp was created by NHL, USHL, NAHL, and College GOALIES! That’s right, Goalies! Who better to know the hardest shots to stop than goalies. The camp was developed by Goalies and is run by top level Player Coaches. This combination is the perfect formula for creating a successful, smarter goal scorer.
The camps are run in conjunction with Canadian Professional Goaltending Camps, the perfect combination. Shooters need Goalies and the Goalies need Shooters.
