“I didn’t know Texas had great hockey teams and players!”

Two members of the San Antonio Junior Rampage Peewee Black team were invited to join a Houston Wild 1999 summer tournament team. The team traveled to Chicago to compete in the Peewee AA bracket of the Chicago Cup - Seven Bridges Spring Classic tournament held in Chicago IL, May 20 - 22, 2011. The team placed first! They competed against teams from Wisconsin and Chicago. A Wisconsin parent said, “When I found out what teams were in the tournament I noticed a Texas team was listed. I immediately thought … there’s an easy win! I didn’t know Texas had great hockey teams and players!”

Our Jr. Rampage players contributed significantly to the success of the team. Jake Kolodziejski scored 2 goals in the championship game including the game winner as the team went on to defeat the Naperville Sabres 3-2 in the Peewee AA division finals. Jake Ange was called upon for the championship game and stood strong between the pipes. Ange also posted 2 shutouts with a 3-0 tournament record and ended with a .67 goals against average.
