Jr. Rampage Travel Hockey
San Antonio Youth Hockey Association teams play under the banner of the Jr. Rampage. Our teams compete in the highly competitive Texas Hockey League (THL) at the Tier II level. Substantial travel is involved as our teams compete across Texas during the regular season and playoffs. When rostered, the High School team competes in the Interscholastic Hockey League (ISHL) in Houston.
Our head coaches are paid professionals with deep hockey backgrounds, including pro, college, & elite youth experience. They bring proven track records in player development & competitive success to every practice and game.
Repeatedly developing players for Tier I / AAA play, we are a competitive travel program playing in the Texas Hockey League (THL), giving players regular games against top teams across the region. This level of competition is a critical step in preparing players for higher levels of hockey.
Age Divisions & League Information

- The Jr. Rampage 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams participate in this league.
- All children born in birth years between 2018 thru 2008 (inclusive) are eligible to participate in the THL.

All birth years 2008-2011 will tryout in the 16U/18U timeslot. This decision comes after a thorough, joint review of the player landscape with our partners in the Northwoods Excalibur program. Northwoods Excalibur will roster a Junior Varsity team competing in the ISHL, while the Jr Rampage will roster a competitive travel 18U team that includes the top 16U birth-year talent in San Antonio.
Both organizations believe this model will benefit all San Antonio players in the 2008–2011 birth years by providing increased development opportunity for 16U players on the JV HS/ISHL team, as well as more highly competitive play for 16U players on the 18U Jr Rampage team.
This model is borrowed from top organizations in the THL who have seen success with it. Bringing it to San Antonio is a testament to the tight collaboration and focus on player development that we see among all THL hockey directors.
Tryout Timeline
The Jr. Rampage tryout timeline is beholden to both TAHA's tryout release schedule, and THL's tryout release schedule. In addition, we are dependent on available ice time at the Northwoods Ice & Golf Center.
Players can plan for 3 hours of tryout ice time per age division.

Season Practices
We anticipate each team to receive 2 hours of full ice practices per week, plus an hour of shared ice skills sessions.
All season practices occur at Northwoods.
Season Games
10U thru 18U teams will play games on weekends. Games can be located in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, or Odessa
